Candle for Cancer

Friday is world cancer day. So many people that I know have been affected by cancer. Some have lived while others have died. Some I never even had the chance to know, like my grandfather. Some where all to young to have been taken from this earth, like a young girl whom I had the pleasure of working on. Some were taken due to lung cancer yet had never even smoked 1 cigarette. My grandmother was taken due to ovarian cancer. Her sister had breast cancer. My mother, colon cancer. I thank the Lord that she has been cancer-free for awhile. My husband has a 12 yr old cousin battling right now and it has him paralyzed. He has been in the hospital since January. He just thought he was having back pain. Cancer is a scary disease. It strikes young and old. The power of prayer is a wonderful thing. So I pray Lord for a cure. For a cure for every type of cancer there is. I pray for those that are suffering now. that you would heal them or take them home so they are no longer in pain. Be with those that are left behind trying to figure out how to go on. Lord, awaken the mind of the scientist that is tirelessly working on this 1 cure and help him have that Aha moment. The world is waiting. Thank you for the life you give everyday. Amen.

I stole this picture from my cousin's blog:)

My Baby is Growing Up!

My little one is growing up. Last week we spent potty training. I had like 2 diapers left so I went to the store and bought some more. They sat on her dresser unopened until I finished with the others. The next day she wanted to where panties so I said let's do this. And for a week those diapers sat unopened. I finally took them back to the store & received $20 back! Yay!

Today she went for her very first hair trim. She screamed when the hairstylist brought the booster and cape out! Now she has seen me get my hair cut and her brother too, and has known this hair dresser since she was born! So the hair dresser let her & her brother "cut" her hair. All was well & she made it through:)

Big brother had to get in on the action:)

My baby is growing up and I'm ok with this. I am enjoying every moment of her & her brother's lives daily. I don't wish for either of them to stay young or wish for another baby. I sleep through the night, don't buy diapers, and don't have to heat up bottles. Don't get me wrong, I loved that stage of life too. But I am looking forward to each and everyday that comes.
