Where has time gone?

Yesterday was a huge milestone. My oldest went to Kindergarten! As a family we walked him to his classroom. He found his cubby and stowed away his backpack. His teacher is so wonderful!!! She had a coloring book for each child to color in while they waited for the day to begin. We said our goodbyes without tears from anyone. I didn't expect him to cry though. He has always loved going to school.

At home my youngest and I set about our day. She is almost 4. She didn't quite make the cut for VPK this year, so she attends the School of Mom:) We went over her letters, colors, and practiced handwriting. Then we had a good game of Operation. The day passed with chores and other interludes of fun until the time cam e to pick him up from school.

I went 40 min early to sit in line. Yes I will be on of those moms who sits and waits. Note to self though: pack water and snack for "L". The time came for us to get "P" and oddly enough it was then that the emotions hit. I am glad that I had on my sunglasses so he couldn't see my tears. I think I was just so proud of him. He had a great day (insert Freshbeat song here...)! I asked him what he loved most about his day and he said, "My teacher gives us candy"!!. Oh boy...

First Day=Success!

I Am Blessed!

I am thankful for my kids. I know I already posted that I was thankful for them but today I needed to remind myself how much I am blessed to have them. It has been one of those days where they have just worked  my every nerve. This time change has really messed them up. Attitudes are rearing their ugly heads and theirs mouths are extremely disrespectful. But I am blessed. They have words to speak when other parents can't hear their children. They have opinions when other children are locked in their own minds and can not express thoughts. I am blessed. They are rambunctious and are always "ON". Other parents have to watch their children struggle to walk or run. I AM BLESSED! My children love to have "Mommy Love"...that's what they say when they want to snuggle. I am blessed. I will focus on that and make more time for Mommy Love, because I am blessed with two sweet children who are future lawyers because they are learning to argue and rationalize their opinions so much that they will not need law school!
